Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Five students from the Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM), accompanied by two supervising lecturers, participated in the SEMI TECH Zoomers Bootcamp – ASEM organized by SEMICON Southeast Asia from May 4–7, 2026, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Malaysia. The program was designed to introduce university students to the international semiconductor industry and enhance their understanding of technological advancements and modern manufacturing practices. read more

The signing ceremony was held at the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC) of the Vocational College UGM on Tuesday morning, from 09.00 to 13.00 WIB, marking an important milestone in strengthening collaboration between higher vocational education and the heavy equipment industry. read more

Yogyakarta, 14 November 2025 — The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DTM), Vocational School, Universitas Gadjah Mada hosted a strategic meeting with the Indonesian Association of Heavy Equipment Experts (Pertaabi) to advance collaborative efforts in education, research, and community engagement. UGM Vocational School Conducts Heavy Equipment Safety Training at SMKN 1 Ngawen to Support SDGs

The five lecturer of UGM Vocational School, Mechanical Engineering Department has carried out Safety Training on Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance at SMKN 1 Ngawen, Gunungkidul. This program was conducted on June 1 to November 30 2025 with the aim of improving teachers’ skills in hazard identification, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), using personal protective equipment, and practicing safe workshops.

The evaluation results demonstrated a remarkable enhancement in the participants’ understanding of the principles of occupational health and safety. The teachers who participated in the training were able to formulate responsive and structured JSAs at the level of the industry and exhibited a greater understanding of the practices of risk control in the workshops of heavy equipment. read more

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM), held an initial discussion and coordination meeting with the Youth Pioneer Group of Kaliagung Village, Sentolo Subdistrict, Kulon Progo Regency. This meeting represents the initial stage of collaboration for the 2025 Community Service Program, which focuses on welding training and the fabrication of portable event tents. This activity involved a team of lecturers from DTM SV UGM led by Dr. Bambang Hari Priyambodo, S.T., M.Eng., along with other faculty members and students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, as well as village authorities and youth representatives at the partner location. read more

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM), held an initial coordination meeting with the Youth Pioneer Group of Kaliagung Village, Sentolo Subdistrict, Kulon Progo Regency. The meeting served as the starting point of a community engagement program in 2025, focusing on welding training and fabrication of a portable event tent.

The program is led by Dr. Bambang Hari Priyambodo, along with a team of lecturers and Mechanical Engineering students, supported by local government representatives and youth communities. The discussion took place at the Field Research Center (FRC), Vocational College UGM, Kulon Progo. read more
