



Yogyakarta, 9 December 2025 — The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DTM), Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with PT Tempopress International Delivery. The signing ceremony was held at the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC) of the Vocational College UGM on Tuesday morning, from 09.00 to 13.00 WIB, marking an important milestone in strengthening collaboration between higher vocational education and the heavy equipment industry.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Vocational College UGM, the executive board of PT Tempopress International Delivery, as well as heads of study programs and academic units within DTM. The MoU and cooperation documents were signed by Dr.-Ing. Ir. Agus Maryono, IPM., ASEAN Eng., Dean of the Vocational College UGM, and Rennie Wihardani, Chief Executive Officer of PT Tempopress International Delivery. Also present was the Vice Dean for Partnership Affairs, Dr. Endang Soelistiyawati, S.Pd., M.Pd., and the management representatives of PT Tempopress International Delivery, including Director of Operations, Hasyim Assagaf.

During the ceremony, representatives from PT Tempopress International Delivery expressed strong appreciation for the graduates of the Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Management Study Program (TPPAB) at the Vocational College UGM. The company highlighted that the technical competencies of TPPAB graduates align very well with industry needs, further supported by their communication skills, work ethics, and professionalism in the field. According to the company, the combination of strong hard skills and soft skills has become a key factor driving Tempopress to expand collaboration in applied education, internship programs, and joint research initiatives.
The cooperation covers several strategic areas, including the development of an industry-driven curriculum, the implementation of student internships at PT Tempopress International Delivery, joint research and technology development activities, as well as direct support for strengthening learning facilities at DTM. As part of the agreement, PT Tempopress International Delivery officially donated one operational dump truck to DTM Vocational College UGM. The donated unit will be used to support industrial practice-based learning activities, applied research, and innovation development by students and lecturers in the field of heavy equipment technology. This contribution is expected to further strengthen the Teaching Industry ecosystem within the Vocational College and provide students with direct exposure to technologies currently used in the industry.
Through this collaboration, DTM Vocational College UGM reinforces its commitment to delivering vocational education that is relevant to workforce needs, while at the same time opening strategic opportunities for lecturers and students to conduct research with tangible impacts on the industrial sector. This model of partnership represents a practical integration of higher education and industrial practice to develop graduates who are work-ready and globally competitive.

The strategic cooperation between DTM Vocational College UGM and PT Tempopress International Delivery also contributes to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the enhancement of applied, industry-based learning; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by opening internship opportunities and strengthening youth competencies; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through research and technological development in the heavy equipment sector; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through continued collaboration between educational institutions and the industrial sector.
