Assoc. Prof. Ir. Irfan Bahiuddin, S.T., M.Phil., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng., a lecturer and Secretary of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada, participated in a series of international academic activities at Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan from 8 to 13 June 2026. The activities were organized as part of The Hybrid International Scientific and Practical Conference “Oguz Han University: Talent, Innovations, Development.”

A team from the Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada, conducted an industrial visit to PT Fuji Seat Indonesia on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. The activity formed part of an effort to strengthen engagement between higher education and industry, particularly in supporting applied learning, competency development, and knowledge exchange related to manufacturing processes.
The UGM delegation consisted of Ir. Irfan Bahiuddin, S.T., M.Phil., Ph.D., IPM, ASEAN Eng. and Dr. Ilham Ayu Putri Pratiwi, S.T. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College UGM, as well as Isnan Nur Rifa’i, S.Si., M.Eng., Ph.D. and Prima Asmara Sejati, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Vocational College UGM.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada successfully held an International Guest Lecture entitled “CAD for Engineering Design and Additive Manufacturing Applications” on Thursday, 4 June 2026. The event was conducted online via Zoom from 07:30 to 09:15 WIB or 08:30 to 10:15 Malaysia Time.

The guest lecture featured Dr. Abdul Yasser bin Abd Fatah, Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Coordinator of the Master of Science in Engineering Design, Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, UTM. The session was attended by students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College UGM, as part of learning enrichment in a course taught by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Irfan Bahiuddin, S.T., M.Phil., Ph.D., IPM, ASEAN Eng.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Five students from the Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM), accompanied by two supervising lecturers, participated in the SEMI TECH Zoomers Bootcamp – ASEM organized by SEMICON Southeast Asia from May 4–7, 2026, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Malaysia. The program was designed to introduce university students to the international semiconductor industry and enhance their understanding of technological advancements and modern manufacturing practices.
Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME), Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), expresses its appreciation and gratitude to OMRON for its support in the organization of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Competition, which was part of the Mechanical Fair UGM 2026 series. The competition was held on May 20–21, 2026, at the Control and Automation Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College UGM, Jl. Grafika 2A, Yogyakarta. The support provided represents a collaborative effort to strengthen the competencies of students and the younger generation in the rapidly advancing field of industrial automation.

As part of the event, ACCRETECH contributed by organizing a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) workshop, providing participants, accompanying teachers, and academics from various universities across Yogyakarta with the opportunity to gain practical insights into precision measurement technologies widely used in modern manufacturing industries.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada extends its highest appreciation and recognition to United Tractors for the support and contribution provided in the implementation of the Heavy Equipment Competition as part of the Mechanical Fair UGM 2026 series of events. The competition was held on 20–21 May 2026 at Campus II of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Jalan Grafika 2A, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
The support from United Tractors played an important role in the success of this activity, particularly in providing participants with an applicable, contextual, and industry-relevant learning experience. Through direct involvement from industry partners, participants gained valuable insights into the latest developments in technology, operational systems, and practical applications in the heavy equipment sector, which continues to evolve in response to industrial demands.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada held an international guest lecture entitled “Exploring the Latest CAD/CAE Technologies: Essential Skills for Industry 4.0” on Thursday, 7 May 2026, from 07.30 to 09.15 AM Jakarta time. The lecture was conducted online and featured Dr. Kyaw Myo Aung from the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Science, Curtin University Malaysia.

The guest lecture discussed the latest developments in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), which play an increasingly important role in product design, simulation, and optimization in the Industry 4.0 era. In his presentation, Dr. Kyaw Myo Aung explained how engineering design and simulation tools can support more efficient design processes, reduce resource consumption, and improve engineering decision-making in industries such as automotive and aerospace.



The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DTM), Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada welcomed a visit from the team of MathWorks on Friday, 30 January 2026, from 13.00 to 15.00 WIB. The visit took place at the DTM premises, Jl. Yacaranda Sekip Unit IV, Yogyakarta, and was conducted as part of a sponsorship visit and an initial discussion on potential collaboration between the two institutions.

The MathWorks delegation consisted of Bambang Nugroho (Account Manager, Indonesia), Ade Pratama (Application Engineer, Indonesia), and Yaswenee (CWL Success Story, Malaysia). The visit followed the successful sponsorship collaboration with Team Yacaranda, whose members achieved several category wins at PLN ICE 2025.





The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DTM), Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada, organized the Corporate X Industry Talk under the theme “Empowering the Next Generation Through Sustainable Industrial Partnership” on Tuesday, 10 December 2025, at the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC). This activity is part of DTM’s strategic initiative—particularly through the Heavy Equipment Management and Maintenance Program (TPPAB)—to strengthen the connection between vocational education and the sustainability-driven demands of the mining and heavy-equipment industries.
