Yogyakarta — Mechanical Fair UGM 2026 featured a talk show titled “Sustainable Mechanical Innovation: Advancing Energy Efficiency and Clean Technology for a Better Society” as a discussion forum bringing together academics, students, and industry practitioners. The event was held on May 21, 2026, at TILC SV UGM, Jalan Blimbingsari, Caturtunggal, Kapanewon Depok, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The session aimed to broaden participants’ understanding of sustainable mechanical innovation, energy efficiency, and clean technology in response to current societal and industrial needs.

Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME), Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), expresses its appreciation and gratitude to OMRON for its support in the organization of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Competition, which was part of the Mechanical Fair UGM 2026 series. The competition was held on May 20–21, 2026, at the Control and Automation Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College UGM, Jl. Grafika 2A, Yogyakarta. The support provided represents a collaborative effort to strengthen the competencies of students and the younger generation in the rapidly advancing field of industrial automation.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada extends its sincere appreciation to ACCRETECH for its valuable support in the implementation of Mechanical Fair UGM 2026, held on 20–21 May 2026 at the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC), Vocational College UGM, Yogyakarta.

As part of the event, ACCRETECH contributed by organizing a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) workshop, providing participants, accompanying teachers, and academics from various universities across Yogyakarta with the opportunity to gain practical insights into precision measurement technologies widely used in modern manufacturing industries.



Yogyakarta, December 1, 2025 — Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed an official delegation from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), China, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation in research, academic activities, and cross-border professional exchange. The meeting was held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 15:00 to 16:00 WIB, at the Rector’s Guest Room, Main Building of UGM, North Wing, 2nd Floor.

The NUAA delegation was led by Prof. TAO Yong, Vice Chairman of the University Board, accompanied by Prof. KONG Chuiqian, Dr. ZHANG Guoquan, Dr. ZHANG Lin, Dr. WU Weiwei, and Prof. JIN Quanyuan. From UGM, the meeting was attended by university and faculty leaders, including the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Dean of the Vocational College, the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources of the Vocational College, the Director of Partnerships and Global Relations, and the Head of the International Cooperation Subdirectorate.



Yogyakarta, September 2025 — The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM) organized a community service program titled “Enhancing Vocational School Teachers’ Competence in Heavy Equipment through Reverse Engineering Technology Training” held from September 8–10, 2025, at both the DTM SV UGM and Fablab Jogja Indonesia, located within the Field Research Center (FRC) UGM, Kulon Progo.
The program was led by Yosephus Ardean Kurnianto Prayitno, along with lecturers and students from DTM SV UGM: Setyawan Bekti Wibowo, Handoko, Sugiyanto, Agustinus Winarno, Ilham Ayu Putri Pratiwi, Tofaenal Akhyar, Luthfi Athaya Wicaksono, and Ahmad Muhsin Al Mataromi. They were supported by Ahmat Hari Setiyawan, technical staff from the CoE Fablab Jogja Indonesia, and industrial collaborators from PT United Tractors, Tbk. Semarang Branch, Josua Aditya Manuel and Muhammad Novan Budi Prasetya.




The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM), held an initial coordination meeting with the Youth Pioneer Group of Kaliagung Village, Sentolo Subdistrict, Kulon Progo Regency. The meeting served as the starting point of a community engagement program in 2025, focusing on welding training and fabrication of a portable event tent.
The program is led by Dr. Bambang Hari Priyambodo, along with a team of lecturers and Mechanical Engineering students, supported by local government representatives and youth communities. The discussion took place at the Field Research Center (FRC), Vocational College UGM, Kulon Progo.
Yogyakarta, 16 September 2025 – The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM), in collaboration with PT United Tractors, successfully conducted a Training on IoT Applications in Heavy Equipment as part of its community service initiatives. The program was held online on 15 September 2025 and continued with an in-person session on 16 September 2025 at the Sekip Campus, DTM SV UGM.

Participants from three vocational high schools—SMKN 1 Ngawen, SMK Veteran 1 Sukoharjo, and SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Playen—joined the training. The program was led by Ir. Irfan Bahiuddin, S.T., M.Phil., Ph.D., IPM, supported by academic staff such as M. Hilmi Wicaksono, S.T., alongside student and alumni assistants including Rian Miftahul Huda and Yogi Ilham Ruswara. PT United Tractors played a key role as the industrial partner in this initiative.



Yogyakarta, April 22, 2025 — A team of lecturers from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM) is conducting a research project to design a simple, affordable, and easy-to-manufacture ankle prosthesis. The research takes place at the Design Laboratory of DTM SV UGM from April 22 to October 31, 2025.
The research team consists of Dr. Ir. Handoko, S.T., M.T., Dr. Ir. Lilik Dwi Setyana, S.T., M.T., Ir. Budi Basuki, S.T., M.Eng., Dr. Ir. Setyawan Bekti Wibowo, S.T., M.Eng., and Dr. Ir. Bambang Hari Priambodo, S.T., M.Eng., all from DTM SV UGM. The project also involves Dr. Yani Kurniawan, S.T., M.T. from Universitas Pancasila, Jakarta, and Rizky Kurniawan, an undergraduate student of the Mechanical Design Technology Program at DTM SV UGM.
