Yogyakarta, 17 November 2025 — The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DTM), Vocational School, Universitas Gadjah Mada conducted an International Guest Lecture titled “An Introduction to Machine Learning: From Theory to Practice.” This event aims to broaden students’ understanding of artificial intelligence technologies while strengthening international academic collaboration.

The guest lecture featured Dr. Kasma Diana Binti Saharuddin from the Department of Engineering and Built Environment, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Penang, Malaysia. The session was held online via Zoom. read more

Yogyakarta – On Wednesday, 29 October 2025, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM), welcomed a benchmarking visit from the Industrial Mechanical Engineering Department, Vocational College, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (DTMI SV ITS). The activity took place from 13.30 to 16.00 WIB in the Meeting Room of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jl. Yacaranda, Sekip Unit IV.

The delegation from DTMI SV ITS was led by Dr. Atria Pradityana, S.T., M.T., as Head of Department, accompanied by faculty members. The visit was received by Dr. Ir. Lilik Dwi Setyana, S.T., M.T., IPM, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department of UGM Vocational College, along with teaching staff and department managers. read more

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DTM), Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada, carried out a community service initiative titled “Enhancing the Competence of Waste-Conscious Communities through Innovation and Engineering in Kulon Progo Regency” on 8–10 September 2025. The program was led by Dr. Eng. Ir. Agustinus Winarno, S.T., M.Eng., supported by lecturers, students, educational staff, and local community partners. Yogyakarta, October 28, 2025 — Mujiraharjo, S.T., a Laboratory Technician from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (SV UGM), has been awarded as the Outstanding Educational Staff during the 2025 UGM Vocational College Anniversary Ceremony. This recognition honors his exceptional dedication and achievements in supporting the implementation of education, research, and community service within the department.

Throughout his tenure, Mujiraharjo has demonstrated remarkable performance through various achievements. In professional development, he strengthened his expertise in design and manufacturing by earning the BNSP 3D CAD Drawing Certification (2022) and the international Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) credential (2025). read more

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM), held an initial discussion and coordination meeting with the Youth Pioneer Group of Kaliagung Village, Sentolo Subdistrict, Kulon Progo Regency. This meeting represents the initial stage of collaboration for the 2025 Community Service Program, which focuses on welding training and the fabrication of portable event tents. Ngawen, 18 September 2025 — The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada, officially concluded its community service program titled “Enhancing Competence of Vocational School Teachers in Heavy Equipment”, which had been carried out since 18 August 2025. The closing event was held at SMKN 1 Ngawen, Gunungkidul, and was attended by lecturers from DTM SV UGM, industry representatives, and participating teachers from partner vocational schools. read more

Yogyakarta, October 2025 — The research team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM), particularly from the Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Management Engineering Study Program (TPPAB), has successfully completed a study focusing on the performance and fuel efficiency analysis of the Komatsu PC195LC diesel engine, with specific emphasis on the fuel injection system and injector components.

This research represents a continuation of a long-term collaborative initiative between academia and industry, aimed at the development of environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient excavator units. The research involved both academic and industry experts, including Yosephus Ardean Kurnianto Prayitno, Sugiyanto, Ilham Ayu Putri Pratiwi, Braam Delfian Prihandianto, Muhammad Novan Budi Prasetyo, Sutikno, Josua Aditya Manuel, Haidar Ali Fikri, Yanuar Khafid H., and Setyawan Adi Nugroho. The study was conducted from July 1 to October 17, 2025, in collaboration with PT United Tractors Tbk Semarang Branch and UT School Semarang. read more

Today, Monday, August 7–Wednesday, August 9, 2023, students and graduates for the August 2023 period of the Mechanical Engineering Department SV–UGM participate in SolidWorks training, which aims to obtain CSWA certification (Certified SolidWorks Associate) in the Design Laboratory.

SolidWorks is one of the most popular 3D design programs in the world, used by many manufacturing companies to create product models and design various prototypes. CSWA certification is an important step for students and graduates looking to strengthen their design skills and enhance their career prospects in the industry. read more
