YOGYAKARTA – PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR) has expressed its enthusiasm to collaborate with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM) on a collaborative laboratory (co-lab): an electric-vehicle maintenance workshop at DTM SV UGM. The idea came up during VKTR’s visit to DTM SV UGM on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. VKTR was represented by Y. Leonardi, Deputy Vice President, Aftersales & Account Management, and M. Nurkhozin, Manager, Aftersales & Warranty. The facility is meant as a place for students to learn hands-on maintenance of VKTR units, especially students of the Applied Bachelor Programme in Heavy Equipment Management and Maintenance Engineering (TPPAB). The candidate site is the area of DTM SV UGM’s Industrial Machine Maintenance (Heavy Equipment) Laboratory, in UGM’s Faculty of Engineering complex on Jalan Grafika, Yogyakarta. It includes 12 m and 8 m electric buses, heavy-duty 6×4 and light-duty 4×2 electric trucks, 6×4 tractor heads for on-road and off-road (mining) use, an 8×4 dump truck, and electric forklifts and loaders. SLEMAN, YOGYAKARTA – Having completed an engine test bench (ETB) for the Komatsu SAA6D107E-1 common-rail diesel engine, the Heavy Equipment Management and Maintenance Engineering (TPPAB) study programme, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM), has begun preparing the facility for wider use, developing modules, SOPs and a training of trainers programme to be held this semester. Yosephus Ardean Kurnianto Prayitno, S.T., M.Eng. (familiarly known as Dr. Ade), a lecturer at the Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), served as the Global Lead Instructor in the “Nomatech Challenge: Problem to Prototyping” event. This first-ever product development bootcamp in Mongolia was officially organized by the Gerlab Engineering Workshop, Ulaanbaatar Science and Technology Park, National University of Mongolia (NUM) from August 10 to 18, 2026, and is part of the international COP17 activities. read more

YOGYAKARTA — The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DTM), Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada organized a two-day technical training on automation control from Monday to Tuesday, August 11–12. The event took place at the Automation Control Laboratory, 2nd Floor, Grafika Building, DTM SV UGM, featuring expert instructor Anggara Riyadi from PT Mitsubishi Electric Indonesia (MEIN).

The training was attended by 13 participants, including faculty members, educational staff, and laboratory personnel from DTM SV UGM. Among the attendees were Ir. YOGYAKARTA — The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM), held a strategic discussion with representatives from the National University of Singapore (NUS) on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The meeting, held in the DTM SV UGM Meeting Room from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., discussed potential collaboration on processing plastic bottle waste into filament for 3D printing, which could be utilized in community service activities in Yogyakarta.

The visit was attended by Derick Tay, Chok-Oon-Kit Khanatip, and their team from NUS, who visited DTM SV UGM in person. Representatives from DTM SV UGM included Dr.Eng.
