YOGYAKARTA — The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DTM), Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada organized a two-day technical training on automation control from Monday to Tuesday, August 11–12. The event took place at the Automation Control Laboratory, 2nd Floor, Grafika Building, DTM SV UGM, featuring expert instructor Anggara Riyadi from PT Mitsubishi Electric Indonesia (MEIN).

The training was attended by 13 participants, including faculty members, educational staff, and laboratory personnel from DTM SV UGM. Among the attendees were Ir. Andhi Akhmad Ismail, S.T., M.Eng.; Ir. Irfan Bahiuddin, S.T., M.Phil., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN.Eng.; Dr. Ir. Widia Setiawan, S.T., M.T., IPM.; Ir. Budi Basuki, S.T., M.Eng.; Ir. Felixtianus Eko Wismo Winarto, M.Sc., Ph.D.; alongside technical staff and laboratory engineers. This initiative was aimed at strengthening the human resource capacity in mastering state-of-the-art industrial automation technologies to support modern, industry-aligned laboratory education.

Running from 09:00 to 16:00 WIB each day, the training sessions proceeded smoothly and interactively. On the first day (August 11), the modules focused on Graphic Operation Terminal (GOT/HMI) and Inverter systems. On the second day (August 12), participants delved into Servo technology, Power Management Systems, and industrial Networking. Overall, the comprehensive training program covered four core domains of modern automation: Human Machine Interface (HMI), Power Management System, Induction Motor and Servo Motor, and Networking.
This initiative reinforces UGM’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing the competence of academic and technical staff, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through advanced technology integration, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering strategic collaboration between DTM SV UGM and industry leader PT Mitsubishi Electric Indonesia.
