


Yogyakarta, December 1, 2025 — Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed an official delegation from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), China, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation in research, academic activities, and cross-border professional exchange. The meeting was held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 15:00 to 16:00 WIB, at the Rector’s Guest Room, Main Building of UGM, North Wing, 2nd Floor.

The NUAA delegation was led by Prof. TAO Yong, Vice Chairman of the University Board, accompanied by Prof. KONG Chuiqian, Dr. ZHANG Guoquan, Dr. ZHANG Lin, Dr. WU Weiwei, and Prof. JIN Quanyuan. From UGM, the meeting was attended by university and faculty leaders, including the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Dean of the Vocational College, the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources of the Vocational College, the Director of Partnerships and Global Relations, and the Head of the International Cooperation Subdirectorate.

Prominent UGM academics were also present, including Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., IPU, ASEAN Eng., Prof. Ir. Selo, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN Eng., Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Agus Maryono, IPM., ASEAN Eng., Dr. Eng. Yosephus Ardean Kurnianto Prayitno, S.T., M.Eng., Dr. Eng. Ir. Adhika Widyaparaga, S.T., M.Biomed., and Dr. Irfan Bahiuddin, S.T., M.Phil., Ph.D., representing both the Vocational College and the Faculty of Engineering.
This visit marked an important milestone in further expanding the collaboration between UGM and NUAA, which has been actively established since 2021. During the meeting, both universities discussed opportunities for developing joint research programs, enhancing faculty and student mobility, and advancing international academic initiatives to be strengthened through platforms such as the Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) and the Summer Lecture Program (SLP) planned for 2026.

NUAA, recognized as a “Double First-Class University” in China, is widely acknowledged for its excellence in aerospace engineering, intelligent manufacturing, and civil aviation. With more than 23 colleges and 231 research institutes, as well as an extensive global partnership network involving over 230 universities across 40 countries, NUAA represents a strategic partner for UGM in advancing technology-driven academic and vocational collaboration.

Dr. Eng. Yosephus Ardean Kurnianto Prayitno from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College of UGM, emphasized that this collaboration is expected to strengthen research capacity and innovation in mechanical engineering, while also opening broader opportunities for faculty–student collaboration within international, research-oriented vocational education programs.

This engagement aligns with the shared commitment of UGM and NUAA to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), through the enhancement of educational quality, collaborative research, and international professional exchange.
