


Yogyakarta – On Wednesday, 29 October 2025, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM), welcomed a benchmarking visit from the Industrial Mechanical Engineering Department, Vocational College, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (DTMI SV ITS). The activity took place from 13.30 to 16.00 WIB in the Meeting Room of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jl. Yacaranda, Sekip Unit IV.

The delegation from DTMI SV ITS was led by Dr. Atria Pradityana, S.T., M.T., as Head of Department, accompanied by faculty members. The visit was received by Dr. Ir. Lilik Dwi Setyana, S.T., M.T., IPM, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department of UGM Vocational College, along with teaching staff and department managers.

The benchmarking session covered various aspects of vocational engineering education. One of the key discussion points was the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) at DTM SV UGM. The departments also explored curriculum development strategies, laboratory management, and potential Tri Dharma collaborations encompassing education, applied research, and community service. The exchange of experiences and best practices provided valuable insights for strengthening academic development in both institutions.

Following the discussion, the delegation toured several laboratories within DTM SV UGM, including the Industrial Equipment or Digital Manufacturing Laboratory, as well as other labs that support teaching, practical training, and engineering activities.

This benchmarking activity is expected to strengthen inter-institutional collaboration and contribute to enhancing the quality of vocational mechanical engineering education in Indonesia. The activity also supports the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
