The competition was held on May 20–21, 2026, at the Control and Automation Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College UGM, Jl. Grafika 2A, Yogyakarta. The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada held an international guest lecture entitled “Exploring the Latest CAD/CAE Technologies: Essential Skills for Industry 4.0” on Thursday, 7 May 2026, from 07.30 to 09.15 AM Jakarta time. The lecture was conducted online and featured Dr. Kyaw Myo Aung from the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Science, Curtin University Malaysia.

The guest lecture discussed the latest developments in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), which play an increasingly important role in product design, simulation, and optimization in the Industry 4.0 era. In his presentation, Dr. Kyaw Myo Aung explained how engineering design and simulation tools can support more efficient design processes, reduce resource consumption, and improve engineering decision-making in industries such as automotive and aerospace. read more

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DTM), Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada, conducted an Advanced Hydraulic Systems Training program for vocational high school (SMK) teachers as part of its community service initiative. This program aims to strengthen teachers’ technical competence in response to rapid advancements in manufacturing and industrial automation technologies in the Industry 4.0 era.

The training was delivered by DTM instructors and experts specializing in hydraulic systems and industrial automation. Held at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the program was scheduled to align with competency development activities for partner vocational schools. read more

Yogyakarta, September 2025 — The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTM SV UGM) organized a community service program titled “Enhancing Vocational School Teachers’ Competence in Heavy Equipment through Reverse Engineering Technology Training” held from September 8–10, 2025, at both the DTM SV UGM and Fablab Jogja Indonesia, located within the Field Research Center (FRC) UGM, Kulon Progo.

The program was led by  Yosephus Ardean Kurnianto Prayitno, along with lecturers and students from DTM SV UGM: Setyawan Bekti Wibowo, Handoko, Sugiyanto, Agustinus Winarno, Ilham Ayu Putri Pratiwi, Tofaenal Akhyar, Luthfi Athaya Wicaksono, and Ahmad Muhsin Al Mataromi. They were supported by Ahmat Hari Setiyawan, technical staff from the CoE Fablab Jogja Indonesia, and industrial collaborators from PT United Tractors, Tbk.
