Dr. Eng. Yosephus Ardean Kurnianto Prayitno, S.T., M.Eng., a lecturer from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada, participated in the 12th World Congress on Industrial Process Tomography (WCIPT12) held on September 15–18, 2025, at Tianjin University, Tianjin, China.
The congress serves as a leading international platform that brings together researchers, academics, and industrial experts to disseminate research findings and discuss the latest developments in Industrial Process Tomography (IPT).

Dr. Yosephus presented his research on Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) under the theme “New Generation Systems for Wider Support of Industrial Applications.” His presentation focused on the development of multi-modal and multi-spectral IPT, multi-dimensional systems that expand spatial and temporal capabilities, smart tomographic systems for direct process control, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into tomographic applications.
This participation reflects DTM SV UGM’s ongoing commitment to advancing scientific research and global collaboration in industrial process monitoring and control technologies.

WCIPT12 also paid tribute to Dr. Jiabin Jia for his remarkable achievements and lasting contributions to the IPT community. During the event, Dr. Yosephus had the opportunity to reconnect with his former supervisor, Prof. Masahiro Takei, and engage in discussions with colleagues including Prof. Jiafeng Yao, Prof. Kai Liu, Assoc. Prof. Bo Sun, and Prof. Brian Hoyle.
This congress continues the academic journey from WCIPT11 in Mexico, where Dr. Yosephus was previously awarded Best Paper and Best Presenter.
His participation supports the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through research excellence, innovation, and international collaboration in industrial technology.
