Praise be to Almighty God, for by His grace and blessings, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada remains committed to carrying out its role in producing vocational human resources who are excellent, adaptive, and globally competitive.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at SV UGM provides vocational education that focuses on the mastery of applied competencies, the strengthening of professional character, and close alignment with the needs of the Business and Industrial Sectors (DUDI). Our curriculum is dynamically designed through a link and match approach, practice-based learning, and the integration of technology and innovation relevant to industrial development.

Currently, the Department of Mechanical Engineering oversees two study programs: the Heavy Equipment Management and Maintenance Engineering Study Program and the Mechanical Engineering Technology Study Program. Both programs are designed to meet the demands of strategic industries, including heavy equipment, manufacturing, machinery maintenance, and modern mechanical system engineering, with a strong emphasis on practical competencies, occupational safety, and graduate work readiness.

In addition to education, our department is also actively engaged in applied research and community service activities, particularly in the development of appropriate technology, energy efficiency, mechanical system engineering, and solving real-world problems faced by society and industry. Collaboration with industrial partners, government institutions, and educational organizations continues to be strengthened as a tangible contribution of the Department of Mechanical Engineering SV UGM toward sustainable development.
